Posters for all occasions. Plain paper, posters mounted on foam core or any of the other substraits available. These two ad posters happen to be 2 x 3 feet, but of course posters come in any size you need and can be done for any occasion.
Postcards come in all shapes and sizes and offer other attributes as well... Glossy finish. Dull finish. Flood UV (really shiny) or spot UV (really shiny just in places). Square corners or round corners. The information you want on your postcard usually determines the size you need.
Custom designed folded brochures come in many shapes and sizes; trifolds, bifolds, rollfolds, z folds, accordion folds are examples. The 5 panel roll fold shown, folds down to 6 x 9; larger than the standard sized folded brochure, and features a short perforated panel for easy tear off.
Shown is an example of a 40 page brochure for a travel wholesaler. I call it my "10 lbs of potatoes in a 5 lb bag" project... lots of information that needs to fit in a limited amount of pages, yet organized and attractive to look at. The amount of information that needs to go into a brochure as content will determine how many pages you need.
This particular custom designed meeting package included a cover and spine insert for a 3-ring binder, contents page, daily schedule pages, a page for each keynote speaker, various information pages and tabbed divider pages. Some
I love doing customized pocket folder projects because of all the different things you can do with them. They are a perfect way to organize all the various services a business offers as well as a way to house all the information together you will be giving your clients. This particular one is only 6 x 9 instead of the typical 9 x 12 size. The inserts are called stagger cut sheets because they are all different heights.
Visit my Corporate Branding portfolio page to see a 9x12 example.
Choices for business card design are endless. As you can see, I like rounded corners when the design, business type and turn-around time dictates it's a good idea, but sometimes you have to stay traditional and go with the standard square cut corner. You must allow an extra day or two for production if you go the rounded route.
Shapes are another thing you can go crazy with: Arrow, oval, diamond, bullet, house, ticket, can, wave, 2" circle, square, 2-4 rounded corners and even pop-up.
Then there is the finish... gloss, matte, UV which is really shiny and spot UV which is super shiny in certain areas, not the whole card. And, you can get really spiffy with foils. The sky's the limit when it comes to business cards.
Spot UV appears on the symbol of the dark purple card and on the back photo of the business card with the "W" in a circle and the hummingbird and the hummingbird itself. It's hard to see, but it's really a nice affect.
Logos are such a personal thing. To me it's important to really understand my client's business and target market so I can best design a logo that puts them forefront of others in their field. I have tons of these and will be posting new ones frequently.
I don't claim to draw nor be an artist, but I do love the arts and crafts style and have created a few logos like the one shown for Anytime Handyman Services.
Trending now is branding your name, and since I studied fonts in-depth in college, I love experimenting and mixing fonts to create your "logo". Mixing fonts can be tricky and there are very specific design rules about doing this. I will be blogging about the rules of mixing fonts and how NOT to mix fonts, so stay tuned on my blog.
Ripcards are perfect for the networker. These are perforated postcards with a business card that literally rips off the bottom of the card leaving you with two pieces that has all your contact information on it. Someone can refer you while keeping your information for themselves as well.
Rackcards are basically 4 x 9 postcards, are very economical to produce, yet with the right design can be splashy enough to hand out at events. They are also space-saving and easily display in an acrylic rack for small countertop spaces.
Four feet, ten feet, retractable tabletops, retractable floor stands, you name it, it's available. The horizontal one shown is actually a 10 foot vinyl banner while the vertical version is a 6 foot retractable floor stand. Some floor stands have the ability to swap out the image that retracts.
Pricing on retractables can vary from really cheap to quite pricy. Words of advice, you get what you pay for when it comes to retractables.
Granted, this calendar was done during the Laker heydays of Kobe, Shaq and Phil, but it was a very exciting time to be working with them! Oh, and by the way, we design calendars too!!!
Since I began my career in publishing, I guess it only stands that it still holds a place dear to me. MSGD does the design and layout for this quarterly trade publication. A 40 page magazine with all types of design issues to deal with. We love the challenge!
A One Sheet is an absolute must for anyone stepping out on the speaking circuit. Regardless of the type of business you are in, if you are talking about it, this marketing tool has to be available at all times.
Here are samples of other pieces we have designed... labels, bookmarkers, hang tags, invitations, door hangers... Basically anything printed, we design it!
